YotM BIPOC & LGBTQ+ Scholarship

We believe that in order to create an inclusive space and make yoga truly accessible for all,

we need to amplify BIPOC & LGBTQ+ voices.

 

Why we created the YotM BIPOC Scholarship:

We believe that yoga should be accessible to everyone, and want to do our part to increase diversity in our students, and in our teachers sharing yoga to our communities. We recognize that increasing the representation of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) and LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer/questioning, and many other terms) teachers in the yoga community is central to fulfilling our mission and we are committed to making that change.

With this in mind, we are offering a partial scholarships up to €2495 to each of our upcoming yoga teacher trainings in Berlin and worldwide. All of these trainings are part of our fully certified Yoga Alliance approved yoga school.

 

What is the YotM BIPOC & LGBTQ+ Scholarship?

With the YotM BIPOC Scholarship we provide partial financial support to our teacher trainings for BIPOC & LGBTQ+ communities. 

The Scholarship covers 50% of the training fee - up to €2495 for the 300h Advance Yoga teacher training and up to 1745€ 200h Vinyasa Yoga teacher training.

There will be one Scholarship spot in each of our trainings. 

 

How to apply:

To apply, please fill out the application form for the teacher training you wish to take part in. 

Additionally please write a motivation letter on why you apply for the Scholarship, how yoga can be an agent of change in our communities and how the yoga teacher training can amplify your voice and your practice.

How will applications be evaluated?

We will internally review all applications to ensure that applications are complete, fully answered and meets the following criteria: 

  • Scholarship recipients must identify as BIPOC or LGBTQ+. 

  • Must meet the general criteria to apply for this training. 

  • The motivation letter for the training shows the candidates' personal goals of growing and implementing change

Further application factors include: 

  • Financial need or independence 

  • Personal history 

  • Commitment to the Yoga practice

All applicants will be notified of their scholarship within 2 weeks after applying, vie email.
